Finding places to read in public is a difficult thing. The tendency for me is to go to a cafe, but that can sometimes get monotonous (not to mention expensive). Other Rioters have done some great posts about the places they like to read (like this piece from Romeo Rosales), but I wanted to offer some more specific recommendations for people who Author: Danielle Bourgon. The Gardener is a wonderful book, and the letter-writing device worked fabulously -- for that story. This book, The Quiet Place, copies the letter format of The Gardener, to much less effect (in my opinion). The illustrations are gorgeous, and the story is sweet -- so I am certainly not trying to disparage the book/5(13). If you are looking for topics to explore during a personal retreat, Quiet Places is an excellent resource. The book has 12 chapters, each addressing a different topic.
